Atsuo Nakagawa, MD, PhD, has published extensively on major depressive disorder and suicide, with a focus on the effectiveness of pharmacological and psychotherapeutic treatments. His work includes systematic reviews and meta-analyses evaluating antidepressants such as sertraline and mirtazapine, as well as studies on cognitive-behavioral therapy for treatment-resistant depression. Nakagawa has also investigated the relationship between antidepressant prescription rates and suicide in Japan. His research has appeared in Psychiatrist.com journals between 2007 and 2017.
