Dorothy K. Y. Sit, MD, has published research on depression, somatoform disorders, and weight-related factors in perinatal and postpartum populations. Her work includes studies on telephone-based depression care management for postpartum women, neonatal discontinuation syndrome related to serotonergic antidepressant exposure, and the effects of prenatal exposure to serotonin reuptake inhibitors or maternal major depressive disorder on infant development. She has also investigated the relationship between prepregnancy body mass index, gestational weight gain, and major depressive disorder during pregnancy.
