Frances R. Frankenburg, MD, is affiliated with McLean Hospital in Belmont, Massachusetts, and Boston University School of Medicine. With publications spanning from 1996 to 2024, Dr. Frankenburg has extensively studied borderline personality disorder, mood disorders including bipolar disorder, addiction, neurodevelopmental conditions, neuroleptic malignant syndrome, and suicide. Her research includes long-term prospective follow-up studies on symptomatic remission, recovery, smoking behavior, suicide mortality, and medical comorbidities in personality disorders, as well as clinical trials of pharmacologic treatments such as fluoxetine, olanzapine, and divalproex sodium.
