Karestan C. Koenen, PhD, has published research on genetic polymorphisms and their interaction with childhood abuse in relation to posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms. Their work includes studies on the norepinephrine transporter gene SLC6A2 and its association with anxious arousal symptoms of PTSD, as well as investigations into the diagnostic criteria of PTSD. Koenen's publications between 2012 and 2015 have contributed to understanding the biological and clinical aspects of PTSD.
