Murray B. Stein, MD, MPH, is affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California San Diego and the VA San Diego Healthcare System. Stein has published extensively on anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and phobic disorders, as well as on depression, posttraumatic stress disorder, and anxiolytic treatments. His work also addresses the epidemiology and neurobiology of anxiety, pharmacologic interventions, and the quality of primary care for anxiety disorders. Stein’s research includes studies on suicidal behavior among military veterans and the impact of co-occurring depression on anxiety treatment outcomes.
